BEOPTIONAL LTD

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

1. Who we are

beoptional is a brand of BEOPTIONAL LTD, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC907018). Our registered office is Clyde Offices, 48 West George Street, Glasgow, G2 1BP, United Kingdom.

We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used. You can contact us about privacy at hello@beoptional.com.

This policy covers our website, beoptional.com, our waitlist and email you send us. The Library has not launched yet. We will update this policy before it does.

2. The information we collect

  • When you join the waitlist: your email address and when you signed up and confirmed. Our email provider, Kit, also records technical details of your sign-up, such as your IP address and the page you signed up from.
  • When we email you: Kit records whether each email is opened, using a small invisible image in the email, and which links you click, because links in our emails pass briefly through Kit before reaching their destination.
  • When you email us: your email address, your name if you give it, and what you write to us.
  • When you visit our website: our website host, Webflow, and its service providers process the technical information needed to deliver the site securely, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We do not use analytics or advertising tools on our website.

We do not ask for sensitive information, and we ask you not to send it to us.

3. How we use it, and our lawful basis

  • Sending you updates, useful ideas and news about The Library (email address, sign-up and confirmation records): your consent.
  • Seeing whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked, so we can make them more useful (email opens and clicks): our legitimate interest in understanding whether our emails are useful.
  • Keeping a record of your consent and making sure we stop emailing you if you unsubscribe (sign-up, confirmation and unsubscribe records): to comply with the law, and our legitimate interest in being able to show that we do.
  • Protecting our sign-up form from spam and automated abuse (technical information about your browser): our legitimate interest in keeping our website secure.
  • Replying to your emails (email address, name, your message): our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
  • Running and securing our website (technical information): our legitimate interest in providing a safe, working website.

When you join the waitlist, we send you an email asking you to confirm. You are not added to our list until you do.

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

4. Who we share it with

We only share your information with service providers who help us run beoptional. They may only use it on our instructions:

  • Kit Inc. (United States): our email service provider;
  • Webflow, Inc. (United States): our website host, including the content delivery and spam-protection services it uses to run websites;
  • Microsoft (Microsoft 365, provided through GoDaddy): handles the email you send to hello@beoptional.com.

We may also share information with our professional advisers, or where the law requires it. We never sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Some of our providers are based in, or process data in, the United States. When your information is transferred there, it is protected by:

  • Webflow and Microsoft: the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (the UK–US data bridge), under which both are certified;
  • Kit: the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, which form part of Kit's data processing terms.

You can ask us for more information about these safeguards.

6. How long we keep it

  • Waitlist: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details. After you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record so that we do not email you again.
  • Unconfirmed sign-ups: we regularly remove sign-ups that have not been confirmed, normally within three months.
  • Emails you send us: for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, and normally no longer than two years after that, unless we need to keep them longer for legal or accounting reasons.
  • Website technical data: kept by Webflow and its providers for as long as they need it to run and secure the website.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of your personal data;
  • ask us to correct it;
  • ask us to delete it;
  • ask us to restrict or stop using it;
  • object to how we use it;
  • ask us to transfer it to you or another organisation.

To use any of these rights, email hello@beoptional.com. We will normally reply within one month. There is usually no charge.

8. Complaints

If you have a concern, please contact us first and we will try to help. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website does not use cookies or similar technologies for analytics, advertising or tracking.

Our sign-up form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which Webflow uses to tell real people from automated spam. It checks basic information about your browser and is needed to keep the form secure.

Our emails include the open and click tracking described in section 2. You can avoid open tracking by turning off images in your email app, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

If we add other technologies, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.

10. Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with the date it was last updated.
